This past weekend I drove home for my aunts funeral. The funeral was held at my grandfather’s home in KwaZulu Natal near uPongola, a place called Ugodlwayo. All proceedings went very well and my auntys send off was well taken care of.
To my surprise I still remembered the directions to get there where the funeral would be held. arrived there early and had some meet and greet all my uncles, aunts and elders. We then waited for the send off service to start. I was emotional just as everyone else, because we were all caught ofgaurd by her sudden passing.

Sad as it was afterwards I thought to myself that I like to have memories of my family i.e. my uncles, aunts & cousins, some of them I didn’t even know by name. Reason being since I last visited my grandfather’s home – when I was 6 years old.
Soon thereafter everything else was done I fetched my camera and started taking photos of the family members who were remaining as a memory keeping.

This December on Christmas day we will be meeting for a first time together. I can’t wait to share new memories with you all of the entire family
So sorry for your loss. Praying God brings peace, comfort, and healing my friend. What a beautiful family you have. Big hugs🙏🏻
